There's nothing wrong about looking a chart with the exact percentage of distortion, vignetting and any other quantitative data about a lens; but there are plenty of such information around the web.

What about the qualitative opinion? Photography is about science and technique, no doubt about it, but it is Art. We want to approach our reviews of lenses in a personal fashion, even an emotional approach. We want to share with your our instinctive perceptions, our intuitive viewpoint.
